How do I make a sheer lipstick matte?
I have a gorgeous deep berry shade of lipstick; only problem is, its a bit too sheer for such a dramatic shade and I can't find a matte lipstick which is the same colour. Is there any technique I can use to make the lipstick look more matte?
Thanks :3How do I make a sheer lipstick matte?
Layer a generous amount on your lips, careful to not go outside the lines though. Then all you do is set it with a bit of translucent powder on a velour brush. Then blend your lips together. I find that this makes the color much better then long wear matte lip color. Good Luck. How do I make a sheer lipstick matte?
Apply alot of the lipstick.Take a single ply tissue (you can take one square of toilet paper and peel the layers apart) and put it up to you lips and powder your lips through the tissue, preferably with loose powder and a powder brush.

I heard that only pig fat is suitable to make a lipstick and other lips product. Is it true?
Or please let me know the sources where i can get a proper answers. some related website may have perfect answer.I heard that only pig fat is suitable to make a lipstick and other lips product. Is it true?
No, there is an oil found it shark livers called squalene. Squalene is oil derived from the liver of deep-sea sharks. 270,000 sharks are killed every day just for their fins and oil. The oil from their livers goes to the cosmetic industry and the fins go for soup. This enormous and mindless genocide has made 307 species of sharks endangered. In fact, the total number of sharks left in the ocean is ten percent of what they were in 1950.
so, i guess there are alot of rumors, maybe some lipsticks do use it, but they are all cutting back,I heard that only pig fat is suitable to make a lipstick and other lips product. Is it true?
sorry idk but ewwwww thats gross
Yeah, lots of make up is made out of animal products.
Stuff from the body shop or lush is vegan friendly though

All True check it out
I doubt it as animal fats spoil quick and would smell. Bees wax is usually common in lipstick.

Is lipstick really made out of fish scales?
I heard somewhere a long time ago that lipstick is made out of fish scales. Is lipstick really made out of fish scales?
I am a makeup artist let me break it down for you:
Lipstick is a cosmetic product for the lips that is richer in color and texture than lip gloss, primarily used to apply color to the lips. Most lipsticks are red or reddish, simulating the appearance of sexual arousal, which naturally increases blood flow and reddens the lips, intending to make the wearer more sexually attractive. With modern pigments, however, lipstick is available in numerous colors and shades.
A typical lipstick contains many chemical ingredients, principally pigments, oils, waxes, and emollients. Perfume and/or flavoring may be added to cover the odors and tastes of the other ingredients. Is lipstick really made out of fish scales?
well thats what my friend told me. she sed that it gives it its shine and texture. Report Abuse
Don't know about the fish scales, but recent testing indicates that lipstick can lead to cancer. Go figure.
Yea. And in this one book i have, it says whale blubber is also made into lipsticks and other make-up products
Go to a Aquarium, they have a poster of what products come from the sea. Like Birch, in Del Mar, Calif.
I am a make up artist that has done custom cosmetic blending work. Lipstick is made out of pigments either real [plant stains] or synthetic [ FD%26amp;C #12]. These pigments are then mixed with a wax ie..paraffin, carnuba, or beeswax. There may be other items added like fragerance or flavor.
As far I know there is not any type of fish scales added.
yha i learnrd that in science
yea i think lip gloss to these kids at my school tease me and say i am wearing fish so i say those fish make my lips look good huh lol
I wouldn't doubt it. Read the label and cross match the chemical names. But don't use Wikepedia, lot of that information is incorrect and some of it has been hacked on there to make people think it is real.
Yeah, I think you're right. I heard they were, too.
I heard it was made out of Whales skin
That's one that I have never heard of.
yes, some r and also from dolphins
Not exactly ';made of,'; which would imply that fish scales are a major component of the product. However, the simple is answer is yes, most lipsticks contain fish scales among the various ingredients.
yes it is...it's very little...but fish scales give it that shine....
No it is not its made with something about pigs and minerals.

Is lipstick made of animal fat?
I've recently heard from someone that lip gloss, lipstick, chapstick, and almost any kind of lip product is made out of animal fat. Is this true?Is lipstick made of animal fat?
Yes, some types of lip balm are made of animal fat, for example from deer. It has positive and protective effects on you skin.Is lipstick made of animal fat?
I dont think so, there are always rumors like this.
eww, thats rank.
lol sorry, erm i think some are depending on the brand.
eurgh.
Some of them are.

Do you think Obama was talking about Palin in an indirect way when he made the lipstick on a pig comment?
Is it ';plausible deniability?';Do you think Obama was talking about Palin in an indirect way when he made the lipstick on a pig comment?
Yes, he was. He had a smirk on his face when the audience laughed.Do you think Obama was talking about Palin in an indirect way when he made the lipstick on a pig comment?
Enough is enough. The McCain campaign’s attack is a pathetic attempt to play the gender card about the use of a common analogy – the same analogy that Senator McCain himself used about Senator Hillary Clinton’s health care plan just last year. This phony lecture on gender sensitivity is the height of cynicism and lays bare the increasingly dishonorable campaign John McCain has chosen to run.
For heaven's sake - Sarah Palin doesn't own the word ';lipstick'; since she said it in a speech. Obama has also used this analogy before and often gets laughs - its just a funny expression.
The Republicans have nothing else except to try to turn this into a soap opera - that is why they elected her. They have no ISSUES (just ask McCain's own spokesman, he said it).
No, I don't think so. I've heard the ';lipstick on a pig'; phrase many times before. McCain even used it before in reference to Hillary's health care proposal. Obama's used it to suggest that McCain's policies were the same as Bush's. It had nothing to do with Palin whatsoever.
The McCain/Palin campaign reaction to this was completely inappropriate.
Here's some text from that speech, maybe someone can tell me where he mentions Palin:
';John McCain says he’s about change, too — except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics. That’s just calling the same thing something different. You can put lipstick on a pig; it’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change; it’s still going to stink after eight years.”
I think after he heard her lipstick joke, his subconscious was searching for something related and when it found the ';lipstick on a pig'; comment, his subconscious shoved it straight out of his mouth.
I don't think he intentionally chose those words as an insult. I think when he realized what he'd said, he probably had to work hard not to laugh and then his next thought was along the lines of ';Oh sh*t, I don't believe I said that.';
I don't like him all that much and I'm not voting for him, but I definitely understand how those words could have been a subconscious reaction to nothing more sinister than the word ';lipstick,'; with no insult intended at all. Cut him some slack, people. There are some substantive issues that need to be addressed, and that won't happen as long as the 2 campaigns talk about nothing but Sarah Palin.
I'd bet he's used that line many times before in his life, and didn't realize until later that people might look at it differently now. I heard the context of the remark, and I don't think most people would think he had Palin in mind at the time.
I remember one politician talking about fixing up inner city housing stock by staying it's like putting ';rouge on a corpse.'; Same idea.
Not at all, that quote is as old as the hills. McCain and Palin, like most republicans, have so little to offer the common man that they have to run a campaign of fear, intimidation, mudslinging, and lies. If they said '; You know we're all about tax breaks for the super rich and corporations and we will rarely be bothered with the plight of the average american.'; they wouldn't get a vote, and quite frankly they shouldn't.
I am sure he didn't think anyone would make that connection.
He was no doubt confused by the reaction of his audience.
He is too nice to have made such a negative statement.
He couldn't possible have known that people would make THAT far fetched of a leap.
He is the victim of dirty politics that's all, quit picking on him.
These are the facts:
He didn't want to call that Governor a pig.
He didn't think anyone would think he was calling her a pig.
His audience just laughed and hooted like that because they never heard that cliche' before.
He was not aware that anyone would make that connection because he is simple minded and thinks everyone is good.
But those Republicans set him up and now he is being victimized. I feel sorry for him, I really do.
I wouldn't vote for him because I oppose his plan to spend 10 billion dollars on educating 3 year old children. I don't think the government should be indoctrinating kids that young.
Think about it if he know that it offensive and he did any way that would be dumb, if he didn't think that anyone would think it was offensive than that is dumb. Either way its dumb or stupid but he is smart and knows how to use email!
I'lll assume you are new to YA .....and not stupid.
Because this issue has been beat to death on YA. Youre a day late and a dollar short (to use another popular phrase).
The phrase ';lipstick on a pig'; has been around for ever.
Dick Chaney used in in 2004 to describe John Kerry (here's the footage):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjwVEeq7J…
John McCain used it to describe Hillary Clinton's health care plan (here's the footage): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMPYkNQlJ…
Even Mike Huckabee said that Obama did not refer to Palin as a Pig.
(yep....here's the footage on that): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXokM9Tax…
I guess you don't really have ';plausible deniability'; do you?
Now...there was no outrage when Chaney used the phrase to describe John Kerry. There was no outrage when McCain used the phrase to describe Hillary Clinton's health care plan.
If Sara Palin and her followers are so sensitive....so weak.....so fragile that Obama referring to McCains new ';change'; platform as ';lipstick on a pig'; offends them.....then Palin ain't ready for politics at the national level. She needs to pack up her toys and go home to Alaska. If she's that fragile.....then she's not a pittbull.....she's a poodle.
Edit:
So......I show you 2 clips of Chaney and McCain using the phrase ';lipstick on a pig'; to describe Hillary Clinton and John Kerry and you throw up a smoke screen of your own and imply that I'm unemployed.
To clarify -- I work ';full time'; too. Neat, huh, you're not the only full time employee that is on YA!! Lots of us are!
Not only that....I even read and do research on the candidates positions to determine who I want to vote for and why. So I don't have to make my decisions based on sound bites and commercials.
Guess, I'm just really good at time management.
No, that is just an old way of saying the GOP is just wrapping the same ploicies in fresh paper. Kurt Vonnegut used the same approach when he wrote, ';White icing on dog poop does not make a wedding cake; it makes a frosted dog turd';.
Obama was referring to John McCain's policies, ie they will be the same as what President Bush has been doing.
It's stupid, he didn't said her name, he wasn't talking about her policy!
He was talking about McCain economic plan compared to Bush, It's still the same whether McCain put it in a different way or not!
Cons must be desperate to go that far!
McCain himself used that same phrase three times, and no outrage, was he refering it to Hillary Clinton?
this is the real reason our country is screwed we worry more about a stupid worthless comment than the real issues run their own campaigns and quit pointing fingers act like adults already.
Kit was totally right WHO CARES something more important or worth asking about. Calling all dems or rep liers is low don't you think generalizing makes a person look stupid having every single person lie is impossible and make you the dishonest person don't bring down your party saying things if you want to make democrats look good stand up and bring something that matters not insults or fingerpointing get work done.
No he was talking about McCain's politics.
You can say you are going to change, but if we look back at what you have done and what you have stood for, you can't be seen as anything different than you always have been.
I am very in love with Palin and will not vote for Obama. However, I don't think he was refering to her in that quote.
I do think that he used poor judgment. He should have known that it looked a lot like he was refering to her.
I think it is obvious that he was talking about her. Notice in the video how he covers his eyes before he says it. Unfortunately, everyone has to give him the benefit of the doubt.
this is so obvious!
Old fish (McCain) , pig with lipstick (Palin)
This couldn't have been planned any better.
It just slipped out what he was thinking.
';plausible deniability?'; What a farce.
No. This is just another dirty sad attempt to pull the gender card and lie to play the victim and try to get some more votes for mcsame. Repos always lie.
Oh, another attempt to deflect from Palin's poor performance, huh?
No. Why are Neocons trying to victimize Palin?
Don't think he was calling her a pig, but do think he used a poor expression to state his belief in her unreadiness to serve as president. It was the first time that I saw him lose his cool.
No he was talking about McCain's economic plan. It's a well known expression. They even have tape of McCain saying it about Hillary
Did you read the full quote? How can he go from talking about McCain's Changes, ALL THE SUDDEN to Palin? I think you Republicans are horrible.
Of course not - - - - Not any anymore than McCain meant it during the million times he used the term.
No.
Palin is a dog, not a pig.
Her own words, not mine.
It's an old term for pork barrel bills in congress decorated as something else.
Really don't think so- Obama has too much class and kindness, and intelligence to stoop to that
No he was not. McCain has use the same phrase when he was talking about Hillary.
No...everything but her.
You have it exactly right.
I can picture the brain session now:
Obama: I hate that lipstick comment getting her votes, we need to turn it around.
Crony: I know, we'll talk about something else that we can say they're lying about, then throw in the old ';you can put lipstick on a pig...';
Obama: Yeah. Liberals will get it; we're all such brainchildren. Repubs won't even catch it.
He was referring to Palin's remarks in her speech at the convention. It was a HOT comment, he had to say something to buck it. Can you say BACKFIRE.
Probably.
He isn't very tasteful or relevant. : D
Not Obama, but that crowd was...damn liberals go plant a tree and save the planet...we need war baby war
Yes, he was. He had a smirk on his face when the audience laughed.Do you think Obama was talking about Palin in an indirect way when he made the lipstick on a pig comment?

Crony: I know, we'll talk about something else that we can say they're lying about, then throw in the old ';you can put lipstick on a pig...';
