Is Barak going to pay for the pig/lipstick comment he made today?

He said, regarding McCain being like Bush, ';You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.';

Ruh Roh!!Is Barak going to pay for the pig/lipstick comment he made today?
I don't like the choices we have for the presidency, so I'm gonna call it as I think I see it.

If Mr. Obama would have said, ';A rose by any other name is still a rose'; there would be no hoopla about it. He chose his words purposely to take away what is something that was considered a slip of the tongue. Remember Sunday's interview? I feel Mr. Obama is intentionally insulting to shine less light on his greater offense. That offense being the lie that he claims to be a Christian when he is not.

Liar, liar pants on fire. ;)

Don't get me started on Mccain.

Is Barak going to pay for the pig/lipstick comment he made today?
People are reading Obama's comment about lipstick and pigs to be a dig at Sarah Palin.

he also talked about old, stinking fish. Many women are reading this as a misogynist comment, because men often compare the odor of women's private parts to the odor of fish.

Many are reading these comments as disguised putdowns of Palin as a woman.

Women are insulted and are forwarding these comments around the web even as I write this.

Probably...but McCain didn't have to pay for using the same line twice when talking about Hillary Clinton. The media, as usual, is giving Grandpa McCain a free ride.

In Iowa last October, McCain drew comparisons between Hillary Clinton's current healthcare plan and the one she championed in 1993: ';I think they put some lipstick on the pig, but it's still a pig.'; He used roughly the same line in May, after effectively claiming the Republican nomination.
FROM URBAN DICTIONARY:

putting lipstick on a pig

37 up, 4 down

A term used by many, generally in reference to someone who may be trying to make something or someone look appealing or attractive when it quite clearly will not work, or will only deceive the dumbest of people.

Car salesmen are generally good at ';putting lipstick on a pig'; because they are always selling unroadworthy buckets of **** and try and hide their shitfulness by tarting them up.

The dude in that car yard just put a body kit on that piece of ****. Talk about putting lipstick on a pig
McCain has used the lipstick phrase, too.

Last year while criticizing health proposals from the Democratic presidential candidates, he said Hillary Rodham Clinton's resembled the failed plan she offered as first lady during the 1990s. ';I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig,'; McCain of her proposal.

I';m missing the big deal. Read the sentences he spoke right before it. He was talking Bush administration and McCain. Do you secretly think she's a pig and just are mad cause you thought someone was pointing it out?

Besides, she called herself an animal with lipstick on the other night. What's the big diff? McCain has also used the pig/lipstick saying before too. Get over it already.
I actually agree with the statement! There is no way that McCain would even still be in this if it wasn't for Palin. He was so far behind in the polls up until she was chosen! He admits to voting with Bush 90% of the time, he has said he's going to start ';other wars'; (check my sources) and we all know that he and Palin are going to drill the hell out of Alaska and wherever else they feel will make their friends and fam richer! I'm glad people aren't voting for president anymore! (---%26gt;insert sarcasm here%26lt;---)

Obama/Biden 08'

Well, that's a good analogy. The Republicans certainly have behaved like pigs- I mean how do you dress up a false war, huge debt, super secretive administration, rampant deregulation of banks (predatory loans), sending jobs over seas, on and on? In this case you'd have to 'sculpt' an entirely new image from lipstick.
Only if McCain pays for all the times he has used the same analogy.

It seems to be a very common expression in Washington.

Now are there any real issues to discuss, or is this all you people have left?

It is going to be very hard for you to make it through two months on just this kind of crap.
It is a common political analogy

just search it

it is used for everything like economics, legislation and international debates

I find it funny that Palin was the one saying that Hillary's whining was wrong, but has the McCain camp crying foul for her
He is trying to hang it on McCain but I think it will bring back bad memories for many Hillary supporters because of the way Obama treated Hillary. He may have just added another nail in his coffin with that comment.
That was minor compared to what Republicans have said.

I never heard about what happened to that lady who called Obama ';Osama'; and then joked about him getting killed. Did she get sacked? Or did the Republicans cover it all up?
Yes, it was a very anti~pig thing to say, and I think his muslim upbringing is showing through when he pronounces his disdain for pigs, lipsticked or otherwise.
And what was wrong with the comment? It's an old saying. He didn't say they were pigs and he didn't invent the comment. They are very, very similar, so the saying was very fitting.
That's actually quite funny...still pigs get a bad rap, they're actually very intelligent creatures. And no, this isn't sexist, he doesn't say anything in regards to Palin's gender. Give me a break.
They have made him pay for everything he says whether deserved or not. It' an analogy made to clarify what he was saying, so no one should take it otherwise.
It is a well known phrase that has been around many years.

Here is a website that will document some known uses of this phrase.

Sane people know it's a common expression. Only the repub kool-aiders are getting their knickers in a knot over it.
Barry is just referring to his own observation that when Michelle puts lipstick she still looks the same.
SHE STARTED WITH THE LIPSTICK. JUST BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN DOES NOT MEAN NO ONE CAN ATTACK HER. SHE NEEDS TO TAKE THE HEAT

I AM TIRED OF THAT
Obama should really look within himself when he says these types of remarks.
I hope it gets a lot of press...these are the sorts of comments that draw the undecided to McCain/Palin.
Why? Its true. McCain is trying to dress up the Bush policies.
AGAIN...palin called herself a pitbull and fellow hockey moms!!!!
LOL @ Sen. Obama, he's right!!

No, he won't because he only spoke the truth.
He finally signed his own death warrant!
Ridiculous

Obama is just not the type to run other people down or call them names.
This coming from a man who promises ';change';. Sounds like the same old name-calling that today's Democrats do so well.
well what he said made sense.
Who cares
You forgot the quote about the old fish!
