Where's the outrage when McCain made the pig with lipstick remark about Hillary?

Good point. I think it might be because dems are able to understand the concept of metaphor.

There鈥檚 no way that McCain is dumb enough to believe that Obama was referring to Palin with the lipstick comment.

The only other explanation for his reaction is that he thinks Americans ARE dumb enough to believe it. Talk about insulting!

For God鈥檚 sake, let鈥檚 not prove him right in November.Where's the outrage when McCain made the pig with lipstick remark about Hillary?
Because it was never ';about'; Hillary. It was about one of Hillary's policies. She took an old policy that failed in the 90's, dressed it up as something else, and put it into play once again. He was saying the policy is just a dressed up pig, not the candidate.

And, to give Obama his due, it seems his statement was about one (or more) of McCain's policies and that he meant it in much the same way.

Here's the difference though...

Hillary never made a lipstick/animal/self comparison and was not known for such a comparison. and she certainly had not does so just days before McCain made his remark.

However, Palin HAD just made a lipstick/pit bull/self comment - one that was so catchy it has become something of her catchphrase and trademark and is being used in the media and on campaign buttons and t-shirts already.

Obama had the poor timing to use a similar reference right after her comment and so it doesn't matter what he meant. The comparisons were inevitable. The outrage was inevitable. ';Fair'; or not, he should have seen it coming.

What worries me most is that Obama and/or his handlers were not smart enough to see that the line would draw fire and replace it. That shows a definite misunderstanding of the current political climate outside their little influence bubble. Even if not meant in that mean way, they should have known better, because they should have known it would be spun meanly. Now you'll see edited clips of her comment and his side by side up through the election to attack him. It's like he's giving them material to use against him.Where's the outrage when McCain made the pig with lipstick remark about Hillary?
Crickets chirping.
Tell me about it.
