Lipstick can protect your lips from the sun..so I would suggest that it has benefits for keeping your lips looking younger. You could always use a sunscreen lip-gloss to protect your lips.
Well .. I don't know about the whole appearance thing, but I know a lot of long last lipsticks contain led in them .. so watch out!
